Portrait of Michael Tusiani

About the painting

Michael Tusiani is shown seated in a dark interior, a cigar in one hand and the other resting on the arm of his chair. His expression, posture and the objects around him give the portrait a sense of familiarity.

Warm light draws out the face and hands against the dark suit and room. The wide composition allows the setting to remain part of the portrait, with the framed ship and rising cigar smoke accompanying the sitter.
